Uzm. Dr. Aslı Begüm Can Aydın

Dr. Aslı Begüm Can Aydın graduated from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. She completed her specialization training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa, Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine. In her specialization thesis, she worked on behavioral problems, somatic symptoms, and irritability in children who underwent hypospadias surgery.

During her medical school education, she participated in clinical observership programs at Boston Massachusetts Hospital in the United States and Viborg Hospital in Denmark.

Throughout her professional life, she has worked on emotional, behavioral, and developmental processes belonging to childhood and adolescence; she has enriched her clinical practice with a psychoanalytically oriented perspective. She specifically works on anxiety disorders, attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), eating disorders, emotion regulation difficulties, school problems, parent counseling, early childhood regulation problems, and mother-infant relationships.

She has been continuing her psychoanalytic psychotherapy formation since 2018 under the Istanbul Child and Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association (ICEPPD) under the umbrella of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy (EFPP). In addition to theoretical training, she has maintained individual analysis, individual supervision, and group supervision processes. She has completed psychoanalytic infant observation formation based on the Tavistock school; she has maintained observation studies focusing on the effects of early mother-infant relationship on psychological structuring.

Continuing her work as a child and adolescent psychiatrist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist, Dr. Can Aydın emphasizes approaching children with a holistic view, not only their symptoms but also their relational patterns, emotional development, and individual stories.
